About

Endocrinological emergencies are often life-threatening clinical conditions and are sometimes worsened by the lack of recognition by healthcare professionals, which can lead to delays in emergency management. Every emergency physician is called upon to soak up the latest knowledge on emergencies related to endocrine diseases. Some diseases have an insidious onset and do not appear until the moment of their complication. This is often the case with the Addisonian crisis and diabetes Ketoacidosis (DKA). To complete their training, the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) published, in its last 2021 Curriculum, a list of endocrine disorders that an emergency department doctor should understand when managing patients presenting to the ED. This novel book will present and guide you on these conditions and their management in emergency situations.
